This is Johnnie Be Good “Senior Head Anchor” for Pug Rescue Network soaking in the tub with my laptop introducing one of our newest babies PRN#215 “Petey O’Malley”. Petey comes to Pug Rescue Network from the Detroit Humane Society where he was abonnanded and left before his papwork could even be completed. Pug Rescue Network was called in because precious Petey suffers from an Abnormal Right Front paw and along with possibly needing total reconstruction of his paw he may also need reconstruction of his private area as this was found to be Abnormal as well. Petey will also need to be neutered and brought up to date on his vaccinations. At this time, Petey is in quarantine due to highly contagious severe kennel cough from being in the shelter environment for well over a week. Our angels have Petey on antibiotics for his horrible cough and runny nose. Petey is doing wonderful with his crate manners and so far, has had no accidents in his room (crate).
Petey loves to play with his stuffed babies and is learning how to play fetch and bring it back. Even though he has a bad paw, this does’nt stop Petey from being the puppy that he is. Petey is a teeny tiny little boy weighing in at only 10.5 pounds.
“Petey O’Malley” has an upcoming appointment with the rescues Orthopedic Surgeon for X-Rays and evaluation. This upcoming surgery for our Petey is going to cost well over $1,000.00 and he may possibly need hardware (Screws, Rods, Plates) and extensive after care.
Folks, I am begging you to help my angels with just a small donation on behalf of my friend “Petey O’Malley”. Is he not the cutest little goober you’ve ever seen!! Please check back as I continue to update with pre & post surgical information. This is “Johnnie Be Good” stepping out of tub.

Petey had his corrective surgery 2 weeks ago and so far so good. He will have a cast on for at least 4 weeks. This week it is bright green!! Petey goes in every week right now for check and bandage change. He isn't supposed to be to active, so it's difficult for him to just take care of "business". He can't wait to get back to being a young active Pug.

Pug Rescue Network would like to welcome Miss Royse Lynn, PRN 229.
Rosye finds herself in rescue because her owner no lnoger had time for her.
Rosye is 2 years old and was originally purchased in August of 2006 in PA.
She was purchased for an edlerly woman, by someone, who thought that a
puppy is a good gift. The woman didn't think it was such a good idea and
she was given to reatives in Detroit. Her previous owner took good care of
Rosye keeping her vaccines up to date, getting the yearly test done, and
even having her spayed.
Rosye is a BIG girl who is surprisingly fast and agile. She loves to run
and play. She like toys and bones, and when she is finally tried she'll
take a break with her human.
Rosye is housetrained and crate trained. She likes kids and other dogs.
Her only issues are her weight, needing patience, and leash training.
Does Rosye sound like an ideal companion for you? The first step to adopt
a Pug is to fill out an application. Can't adopt consider sponsering
Rosye.

This is Johnnie Be Good “Senior Head Anchor” for Pug Rescue Network fluffing my fur and again introducing our newest baby PRN#216 “Scotty Big Time”. Scotty comes to us rescued from an Ohio puppy mill.
“Scotty Big Time” is Blind. The angels at this time do not know if this is a permanent condition or if the wonderful Ophthalmologist Pug Rescue Network uses will be able to correct his vision and allow him to see.
Scotty Big Time will not be available for adoption until he is evaluated for his vision impairment and is old enough to be neutered. No Pug leaves Pug Rescue Network without being spay/neutered. No exceptions!!!
Scotty will continue to have his series of puppy vaccinations while waiting neutering and the outcome of his vision assessment.
“Scotty Big Time” is the second Pug rescued wearing the collar of
”Freedom”. This special collar represents the freedom of their lives no longer being spent as prisoners of greed in the breeding chain of puppy mills.
Folks, as you’ve seen, our angels at Pug Rescue Network are being overwhelmed with homeless Pugs with severe and previously unaddressed medical issues. I implore you, to reach deep within your pockets and find it in your hearts to send even a small donation (perhaps some spare change) found deep within the lining of your pockets to help our angels help us.
This is Johnnie Be Good “Senior Head Anchor” off to get a snack and a much needed nap on my snuggle ball.

Time for the LONG over due update on Scottie Big TIme. Scottie has seen PRN's opthamologist to be evaluated and there isn't a treatment for Scottie's blindness. It is a genentic defect. It was also discovered that Scottie's eyes have poor tear production and will always need to have drops, several times a day, in both eyes. Scottie doesn't know he's blind so he's pretty fearless. Like most puppies, he's energetic, and mischievious. He loves playing with toys and hanging with his foster brothers. He's learning to sit when asked and patience, which is hard for puppies but really hard for Scottie. Potty training is coming along. He can go several days without an accident.

We wish to welcome Paulie St. James. A cute, 4-5 year old who can be pinball one minute and a laid back dude the next. What ever you want to do, Paulie's right there. Paulie former family was forced to move and couldn't take him. He needs to put some weight on and was treated for a hot spot. He is being brought up to date on his shots.
Paulie mostly goes with the flow. Like most dogs he real excited when he see's his human again, but he will quickly calm down. He enjoys playing roughly with a stuffed toy, then will nurse on it. Paulie gets along very well with other dogs and kids. He is excellent in his crate. He can be a cuddler when you want.
Paulie will be learning to be patient, and to walk on a leash. He is eager to please and food driven making training easy

This is Johnnie Be Good "Senior Head Anchor" for the Pug Rescue Network introducing PRN#218 "Samuel Nicholas Klaus" Samuel Nicholas took a very nasty fall off the couch and broke both his front legs!! On Christmas Eve morning our angels had Samuel to our wonderful veterinarian who after taking x-rays confirmed that Samuel had indeed broken both his front legs at the elbow.
Samuel was stabilized and given pain medication until surgery could be performed. Samuel had his surgery on Wednesday, December 26th and did very well. He had pins and screws placed at his elbows and will be on crate rest for the next four weeks. Once his legs have had a chance to heal, our angels will start doing physical therapy with him to help him regain his strength. As you can see from his picture, Samuel is a stunning 1½-year-old Fawn boy. I know from reviewing his records that he was neutered during his surgery and is being brought up to date on all his vaccinations. I haven't gotten to "officially" meet Samuel but I have talked to him through the heat vents here in our foster home. Here's an excerpt of one of our conversations.
(Johnnie) Hey newbie, what's your name?
(Samuel) Samuel. What's yours?
(Johnnie) Johnnie Be Good, "Senior Head Anchor" for Pug Rescue Network
(Samuel) Wow, you sound very important.
(Johnnie) Yea, I'm kinda a big deal around here.
(Johnnie) Whatcha in for?
(Samuel) Two broken front legs
(Johnnie) WOW, bummer!! Does it hurt?
(Samuel) Ummm, yea???? A lot!!
(Johnnie) Sorry to hear that. They got you on good pain meds?
(Samuel) Yea, pretty good.
(Johnnie) What do you think of the kitchen staff?
(Samuel) She's pretty cool and the foods not bad.
(Johnnie) Yea, I think so too. I haven't heard you raking your bowl across the bars of your crate so I figured she was feeding you the good stuff. Well, better get some shuteye. Talk to ya tomorrow night. (Samuel) Ok, Thanks for being my friend.
(Johnnie) No problem kid, now get some rest, you're in good hands with the angels. We'll meet soon and I'll show you the ropes.
As you can see, Sam's a pretty good kid. I never hear him bark of make a peep. I'd appreciate it if you could keep our new kid "Samuel Nicholas Klaus" in your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time in his life.
Consider being a "Sponsor" for Samuel and help offset the cost of his surgery and brighten his days in solitary confinement.

This is Johnny Be Good here at PRN headquarters. I would like to introduce PRN# 201, Steward Gilligan”. Well Gilligan looks a little more like Skipper than Gilligan but that is just my opinion. Gilligan was surrendered to PRN because he was marking in the house. You see there was a new human sister in the house and Gilligan was not getting the attention he was used to. Pugs will do this to get attention whether it is good attention or bad. Well, he will charm you with his looks and his little tongue that sticks out when he gazes at you. Gilligan does like to play games to if he does not get your attention he will grab the toilet paper and run through the house. He said his foster home does not find it funny but he did chuckle when he was telling me this story. Gilligan is very photogenic and loves the camera. PRN will continue to work on his house training. If you would like to adopt Gilligan please submit an application with PRN# 201. If you cannot adopt Gilligan then please consider sponsoring him.
4/12/2008 Update: Hello everyone:) It is me Gilligan. I am doing great. I have not had any accidents in a while in the house. I still am like a cat though. I am very nosey and like to investigate things. My foster dad has to keep an eye on me so I do not make a bad decision. He still loves me I just dazzle him with my looks. I am still looking for my forever home so get your application in so i can dazzle you!!!! I am a very good boy now because I have to behave.

This is Johnnie Be Good “Senior Head Anchor” for Pug Rescue Network introducing one of our newest arrivals PRN#213 “ Cody O’Neil” Cody comes to Pug Rescue Network from a local shelter where he was saved from being sold to research. Yes you read that correctly “Cody” was stashed away when the shelter knew the research dealer was coming and Pug Rescue Network was called in. Cody O’Neil” is a beautiful fawn boy who at first had no idea what it was like to be inside a warm home. His Foster home believes he lived his life outside. Cody is trying to find his inner fawness and at first, didn’t want to be held or touched. Cody is slowly coming to trust his Foster Mom and is learning that some hands are loving and is starting to enjoy what being a Pug is all about. Cody has been seen by our wonderful veterinarians and has some dermatitis of the ears, which are currently being treated. He is being brought up to date on his vaccinations and will be ready for his “Forever Home” very soon.
Cody O’Neil is full of energy and loves to play with other Pugs. I have witnessed this first had as he and “Hope Ella Starr” spent an evening Pugtonaing around the house.
If you think your that special home for “Cody O’Neil” please fill out an Adoption application and put my friend “Cody’s” name on it. If you’re unable to adopt Cody, please consider being a Sponsor for “Cody O’Neil”
Update: April 25, 2008
Cody is doing wonderful in his foster home! It is heartwarming to see the transformation from his first day in our care. Cody has wonderful manners, he does not bark excessively, does not jump on people, is good with kids and other dogs, does well on walks and is excellent in the car. He has had no other health issues. He
is easy going except for his ball. He LOVES to play fetch for as long as you will play it with him. He is now comfortable being an inside pug. Cody will give kisses
now & snuggle with you on the couch in the evening. He is a very happy boy who loves to meet new people. He now knows the good pug life & is happy just to be with you.

The Pug Rescue Network would like to welcome PRN# 197, Maximillion Corleone. Max was well taken of by his previous owner. Up to date on all shots and tests, and neutered. He was surrendered in August because he
wasn't getting along with the larger dogs in the house.
His Foster Mom reports that Max is crate and house trained. Max is working on a couple of bahavioral issues, such as leash manners, and having a
dislike for small appliances. His Foster Mom is working with Max on these
issues and he is showing improvement. In other words Max is in Puggy boot
camp.
He is a good looking young Pug who plays and cuddles. He enjoys doing
whatever his human is doing.
Can not adopt Max? Good news you can sponsor him by just making a donation
in his name. Max said that if you sponsor him he would love to see your
name next to his. Right now sponsorship is important with all the critical
dogs Pug Rescue Network has in rescue, as little a $5.00 can make a big
difference.

This is Johnnie Be Good "Senior Head Anchor" for the Pug Rescue Network
welcoming one of our New Arrivals PRN#219 "Ebony Nicole". Ebony came to Pug Rescue Network along with four of her other Pug housemates. Ebony's previous owner did not have the time or funds to provide for all of them and made the difficult decision to surrender all of them to our Angels.
"Ebony Nicole" is a beautiful 7-year-old Black Female. Ebony has been seen
by Pug Rescue Networks wonderful veterinarian and has been spayed, brought up to date on all her vaccinations, had her nares repaired to better help her breath, soft palate resection, dental cleaning and microchipped. Ebony also had a pretty nasty kidney infection that was also treated before her surgeries. Yes folks, she had some medical issues that needed addressed.
Ebony is crate trained and is doing pretty good with learning how to walk
on a harness and leash and not marking in the house. "Ebony Nicole" has been put on the Hayden James ¼ cup diet and exercise plan and loves to stay by her Foster Mom and take walks around the yard. She is a fun loving spirited adult gal who is looking for a loving home to call her own.
If you feel your home might be the one, please submit an "Adoption Application" and put "Ebony Nicole" PRN#219 on it. If you're not able to adopt at this time, consider becoming a "Sponsor" for Ebony Nicole. The Pugs in Rescue get a real kick out of it when they have Sponsors by their names.

This is Johnnie Be Good "Senior Head Anchor" for the Pug Rescue Network. It is with very heavy heart that I report PRN#204 "Sara Beth" has returned to rescue. Ladies and Gentlemen I don't even know where to start. "Sara Beth" was returned to rescue because her adoptive family became frustrated with her because she would have accidents in their home. Our precious "Sara Beth" was physically hit as punishment for her accidents. I am so frustrated, angry and heartbroken that such a truly wonderful sweet, precious Pug baby would be subject to this cruelty!! Pug Rescue Network works diligently to find our rescues the best "Forever Homes" possible and I'm truly at a loss as to how someone could do this to a ten-pound blind Pug!!!
As many are aware, the Angels of Pug Rescue Network work very hard training our Pugs that come into rescue that have issues. Our Foster Homes put our rescue Pugs on very consistent, regimented schedules for a reason, we need it and we thrive on it!! Let's face it folks, Pugs are turned into rescue unwanted and broken, it is our Foster Angels job to fix us and help us become confident and secure again before we're placed in what they believe is our "Forever Home".
"Sara Beth" having accidents WAS NOT Sara's fault - it was her parents fault for not making sure she went potty and finished her business before coming back into the home. "Sara Beth" was scolded and physically hit for going potty outside and not going in the place her humans wanted her to go, hello people, she's not human, she's a blind Pug for Gods Sake!! "Sara Beth" is currently in Emergency Foster Care and will be returning back to Michigan this weekend. Our Angels are putting Sara on "Medical Hold" as now Sara has come back with some issues (gee, I wonder why) she cowers when she goes out to go potty because she doesn't know if she's going to be punished, how sad is that??
I am truly sickened and disgusted and feel very sorry for our Angels at this moment. They are overwhelmed with Pugs coming into rescue and to have a Pug come back to rescue as young and beautiful as our Miss. Sara Beth is truly heartbreaking.
This is Johnnie Be Good "Senior Head Anchor" going to hang my head and cry.
Sara was an owner surrender whose family knew our angels could give her the best possible chance at a wonderful and full life. You see, Sara is blind. By looking at Sara’s eyes it looks like it could possibly be a genetic issue but until she’s seen and evaluated this is only a guess. Sara Beth will also need spayed and her vaccinations updated before she will be available for adoption. Please don’t let this little girl’s impairment get in the way or make you afraid to adopt her. She is just a teeny tiny little doll!!! She does a very good job of feeling her way around and is already learning to let her other senses help her out in getting around. She’s already tried doing a pugtona in the backyard!! Once I have more information and Sara is evaluated I will update with what the rescues course of treatment will be for her. I am begging for all of you folks that are visiting the PRN website to please become a Sponsor for our Miss. Sara. Should she require surgery for her eyes, it could become very costly for our Angels. They work so very hard for us; won’t you please give them a helping paw?? This is Johnnie Be Good reporting live from PRN Headquarters.

Hello Everyone!!!! This is Johnny “Be Good” reporting. It has been crazy around here at Pug Rescue Network! Well let me introduce you to PRN# 202 Birdie Belle Blossom. Belle is a 7-year old young fawn female that is cute as a button. Belle was rescued on August 27, 2007 because her family had to move and could not take Belle with them. Well, Belle has acquired several nicknames since being here at PRN, like Belle Pepper, Belle South, and Birdie Belle Blossom. Belle thinks it is cute and she wonders about some of the names like Belle South? She says that she never was a communications expert but she does like you to talk to her then she will speak back. The name Belle Pepper came out when her foster dad was out in the garden picking bell peppers. I guess he thought it was funny. Oh well you can see she is loved here at PRN. Belle is a very good girl with great recall. She has been seen by the PRN vets and once her teeth are cleaned this week she will be ready to find her forever home. If you are interested please submit an application and put PRN# 202, “Birdie Belle Blossom” on it. If you cannot adopt Belle she would love for you to sponsor her!

This is Johnnie Be Good “Senior Head Anchor” for Pug Rescue Network. I would like to introduce a new beautiful black diva PRN#207 “Daisy” into rescue. “Daisy” can you tell the folks a little bit about yourself and how you’ve come to rescue. Well Johnnie, my previous owner passed away and her remaining family didn’t want me. I was given to a neighbor who kindly let me spend a couple of days in their garage until arrangements could be made for me to come to Pug Rescue Network. I knew I was special, because the rescue volunteer angels drove all the way to Indiana to help me. Folks, I’ve got to tell you, when Daisy came into rescue, I honestly don’t know how this poor little girl even walked. Her nails were so out of control; they were completely curled back into her paw pads. It was the saddest thing I’ve ever seen. I was also able to observe as Daisy received her first bath in who knows how long, it was pretty bad. After three washes and rinses we were finally able to start seeing her beautiful black coat.
Pug Rescue Network did not receive any vet records for Miss. Daisy so she is on Medical Hold until all her medical needs can be addressed. Daisy is a beautiful little girl who is a little on the shy side until she’s comfortable in her surroundings. Once she is comfortable, she is a wonderful inquisitive little one who is learning how to play and come out of her shell. Daisy does very well in her room (crate) is very quiet and loves to go for car rides too. Her Foster home is helping her along in her housebreaking and once her medical is addressed we will be ready to find her a “Forever Home”
If you feel your home could be “Daisy’s” Forever Home, please fill out an “Adoption Application” and put PRN#207 “Daisy” on it. If you’re unable to adopt at this time, consider being a “Sponsor” for our Miss. Daisy. This is Johnnie Be Good “Senior Head Anchor for Pug Rescue Network off to my next new arrival interview

This is Johnny Be Good reporting. I would love to introduce PRN# 200 Tess A. Licious. Tess was brought into rescue because she was not getting along with her pug brother. You see Tess was fighting with him and he already suffered from seizures. So Tess’s family decided it would be in her brother’s best interest to send Tess to rescue and it would help with her brother’s seizures. You see her pug brother was 10 years old. I am happy to report her brother’s seizures have been cut in half since she left! Well a little about Tess she is in puggy boot camp and continues to get better with her attitude everyday. Tess is a puppy at heart and wants to play fetch till your arm falls off. Tess is a little girl weighing in at a healthy 15 pounds. She was born on 5/19/2007 so she just turned 2 years old. PRN will continue her evaluation and then place her in the best possible home. Tess will be with other pugs and she will be monitored closely. If you are interested in Tess please submit an application with Tess’s name and PRN#202. If you cannot adopt Tess but would like to sponsor her she would love that as well. XOXO

Oh, oh here she comes. Ladies & Gentlemen I would like to introduce her royal highness PRN#206 “Princess Fiona Antoinette”. Princess, it is a pleasure to meet you!! Well thank you Johnnie for such a warm and wonderful welcome. Princess, can you tell the folks a little bit about yourself and how you’ve come to rescue. I come to rescue as an owner surrender. My previous family was forced to surrender me due to allergies. Your angels that you refer to have put me on the Hayden James ¼ cup diet and exercise plan. I see nothing wrong with my fluffiness, but your angels say it’s in my best interest to shed a couple of pounds. In olden days, they would go to jail for a statement such as that. I have been put on a kibble to help with my weight loss and also a pesky UTI issue I’ve been having. I have been updated on my vaccinations and once I’m finished with my medicine and have been rechecked I will be willing to review applications to help find a suitable and proper home for royalty such as myself. I am currently being fostered in a suitable home and do find the attention of the commoner Pugs I live with very flattering. I am a lovely shade of fawn absolutely gorgeous and stunning, if I must say so myself. If you feel your home is of proper means and you can give me the life style I am accustomed to, fill out an “Adoption Application” and put my name on it.
Well folks there you have it. Your royal highness it has been a pleasure being in your presence. This is Johnnie Be Good “Senor Head Anchor for Pug Rescue Network off to my next rescue interview
