A Note About our Adoption Fees
When you adopt from the Pug Rescue Network,
your pug will have been brought up-to-date on
all vaccinations, spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, as well as any major health
issues addressed (many suffer from neglect which is very costly to
correct). This high-level of healthcare gives the best possible chance
for success at his / her new forever home. This cost is
covered partially by the adoption fee while the rest is
covered by our fundraising efforts. (Our adoption fee is based on age,
ranging from $150 for seniors to $400 for young adults and puppies. This
is regardless of being a pure-bred or mixed breed.). The adoption
fee rarely covers the healthcare costs we have incurred for each Pug.
If you feel this fee is high, consider the costs of "buying" a puppy. After your initial purchase of $300-$1000 for the puppy, you will need to spend another $100-$300 in medical costs to bring your puppy's vaccinations current. In addition, you will need to spend another $200-$300 for you to spay or neuter your puppy. Add in the time needed to potty training your puppy, as well as any unknown health issues or accidents, you are spending a substantial amount more than the adoption fee.
