In Memory of Sire Neon Bruch

"Sire Neon Bruch"
Neon was our very first pug. We
wanted a fawn little girl; however, the breeder only had a black little boy
left. She told us to just come and see him as we would change our mind about
having a fawn female once we saw him.
We drove to Rockford, IL, to the breeder’s house. She took us to the
enclosed porch, let out a whistle and out pops this little black boy, all
two pounds of him! Daddy John didn’t say a word to me he just took out his
check book and said, “who do I make the check out to?” He knew immediately
this little guy was coming home with us.
On the drive home we were throwing around names and couldn’t come up with
one. Just at that moment we passed the Rockford Dodge Neon plant and saw a
black Neon car. We said that car looks like this dog, or this dog looks like
he has been hit by one of those cars and had his face smashed…and that is
how the name Neon came to be. I guess if the name fits, take it.
February 1996 everything fell into place. We had been trying to get a pug
from a breeder for over two years. Every time we called on them all of the
fawn females were spoken for. Somehow this breeder got us to come to her
house to look at this little black boy and it was the BEST decision we have
ever made.
Neon has been the best dog ever. He has brought us 11 years of
companionship, love, fun and laughs. He passed from cancer on February 3,
2007, just three days short of his 11th birthday. He tried so hard to put on
a brave face for us and let us know it was going to be ok. He was always
trying to please us even when he was very sick his kind spirit shined
through.
Neon left behind his mommy, daddy and best friend Niles who we adopted from
the Pug Rescue Network. He will be sadly missed by the entire family.
